“Flowers & Feathers” – Margaret Chandra’s Easter and April new Photography Exhibition!

12 April, 2017 By Margaret 2 Comments

Wreath flowers unique to WA. Australia

Gallery 40 on 9 Piper St will open its Easter Photography Exhibition with contrasting photos of WA wildflowers and the lagoon life of birds in Kakadu in NT.

“I came back from our trips inspired especially by the wonderful displays of masses of colourful ground cover around Geraldton as well as the varied flowers.  And the Kakadu lagoon trips early and late in the day were wonderfully atmospheric with birds so close by,” says the photographer, Margaret Chandra.

The exhibition aims to convey some of that atmosphere in both places. The stretches of yellow, pink and white flowers under the trees in WA are unique while the Kakadu lagoons themselves provide a wonderful background to the varied flights of birds and the waddling ducks under the trees.

There are sunset scenes and some images of individual birds as well as the odd crocodile! Something of interest for everyone!

Margaret’s new range of handmade cards will be of particular interest for people looking for different Australian theme cards for overseas or special people.

Margaret will also have some of her popular hand-made glass jewellery and other items for sale.

Look out for the flags on the left at 9 Piper St, Kyneton, from April 14 -17  (Easter), 22 – 25 (Anzac Weekend), and  April 29, 30 and 1 May.Hours are 11 – 4 or by appointment.

Phone Margaret Chandra 0438356025 for more information – or visit www.gallery40.com.au.

Happy Easter greetings!

Great show of photos. Thanks Priya. The big photos of the carpets of flowers really light up the gallery and the birds and lagoon from sunrise to sunset in the firt room are great fun. Really unusual!
